The special exhibition
The two millionth locally produced commercial vehicle rolls off the assembly line at Mercedes-Benz do Brasil. The production figure breaks down into around 1.4 million trucks and 600,000 buses and bus chassis. The anniversary vehicle is a Mercedes-Benz Actros and is handed-over to the customer „Fagundes Construction and Mining Group“ from Rio Grande do Sul. The customer´s fleet consists with over 500 Actros of mainly Mercedes-Benz trucks.

Major British company affirms its green credentials: Mercedes-Benz Vito E-CELL completes vehicle fleet from Network Rail

Britain’s Network Rail will in future use the Mercedes-Benz Vito E-CELL to transfer its staff between the Westwood Leadership Development Centre and the local Tile Hill railway station. Network Rail is the operator of Britain’s rail infrastructure and owns the physical assets of the former nationalised British Rail. Those assets include track and signalling, tunnels, bridges and level crossings as well as the management of 17 key UK railway stations.

The Fuso Canter with crewcab is enjoying increasing popularity. Perhaps hardly surprising, since – following the discontinuation of the successful Mercedes-Benz Vario after so many years – it remains Daimler AG's only truck with crewcab in the 7.5 t perm. GVW segment. Its spacious crewcab seats seven: an important argument in its favour for works depots needing to drive a gang to where help is required – as is currently the case in many areas that have been experiencing flooding.

For the ninth time running the readers of the "Off Road" trade magazine have voted the Mercedes Benz Unimog best off-road vehicle of the year in the "Special vehicles" category. The vote for the "Off-road vehicle of the year 2013" covered thirteen categories with off-road vehicles from 53 manufacturers. Over 74,000 votes were submitted for 125 vehicles. The Unimog came took first place in the special vehicles category with an outstanding 31.1 % of readers' votes.

As part of its "Intelligent Drive" strategy, Mercedes-Benz is all set to bring Car-to-X technology to our roads by the end of this year which will enable the exchange of information between individual vehicles as well as between vehicles and the traffic infrastructure. Through the use of Car-to-X communication, information on potential road traffic dangers can be passed on to drivers at an early stage so that they can take appropriate action and even help to avoid critical situations arising in the first place.
