car2go U.S. members now have access to the entire car2go U.S. network
Country to country carsharing planned for later this year

AUSTIN, TX – Starting today, car2go North America, LLC, a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Daimler North America Corporation, will give all car2go members in the United States access to its network of more than 1,300 fuel-efficient smart fortwo cars in all car2go cities within the country – including Austin, San Diego, Washington D.C., Portland, and starting later this month in Miami.

“Step by step, we are making it possible for our members to have access to a car2go in every car2go city worldwide,” said Nicholas Cole, President & CEO of car2go North America. “As we continue to expand into more cities within the United States and around the world, we are working to make carsharing more flexible for our members.”

Now, car2go customers in the United States will have the flexibility of being able to use their car2go membership card when they travel to other car2go cities within the country. car2go also announced today that members in Canada will be able to use their car2go memberships in any Canadian car2go city as well. By the end of the year, car2go expects to bring country to country access to its customers in North America.

There are currently more than 50,000 car2go members in North America and more than 120,000 car2go members worldwide. Globally, more than two million trips have been taken in a car2go since its inception in 2008.
